A 200-strong delegation from the East of England’s energy industry will head to Westminster this month to reinforce to politicians the region’s importance to the sector and the UK economy.

ABP’s Port of Lowestoft has welcomed its newest customer, World Marine Offshore (WMO), as part of the company’s UK-based project to support ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm.

The first ever truly collaborative UK/Netherlands Oil and Gas event is being held in Norwich on Tuesday 9th October and then repeated in Amsterdam on 24th October.

Vattenfall, the Swedish energy group, and Peel Ports, the infrastructure specialists, have agreed to reserve space at Great Yarmouth harbour to site an operations base for two major offshore wind farms.

According to Proserv, the expansion from nearby Great Yarmouth is a result of the growing operation of the company’s renewables unit in the offshore wind industry.

ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) is to add an additional phase of consultation for their East Anglia TWO and East Anglia ONE North offshore wind farm projects.

The offshore substation for ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia ONE windfarm has successfully been installed in the southern North Sea, some 59 km from the coast of Lowestoft.

A provider of marine engineering services for the offshore market, the firm saw pre-tax profit rise from £17.1 million in 2017, to £21.5 million in 2018.

Up to 30 jobs are being created after leading offshore wind services company 3sun Group won a major contract to help build a new wind farm off the East of England coast.
