Peel Ports advances Great Yarmouth expansion plans
The Port of Great Yarmouth is set for a major upgrade, with Peel Ports advancing plans to build a new deep-water Southern Terminal at its Outer Harbour. The project, which includes a 350-metre quay, a RoRo ramp, a heavy-lift pad, and roughly 10 hectares of reinforced outdoor storage, aims to position the East Anglian port as a cornerstone of UK energy and infrastructure logistics.
Peel Ports Group, which owns and operates the site, is targeting early 2026 for planning approval. The new terminal responds to surging demand from project developers and contractors delivering large-scale energy and construction assets, including wind farm components, transmission systems, and modular civil engineering structures.
