Opportunities in US Offshore Wind Seminar
Charles Macdowell from Virginia Beach Economic Development kicked of the US Offshore Wind Seminar at OrbisEnergy, on Friday 3rd December.
We also heard from 4C Offshore Limited’s Dr James Bernthal-Hooker who provided insight into the US offshore wind outlook. This was followed by Seajacks‘ John Palmer – an incredibly successful business headquartered in Great Yarmouth, who have built their capability in the UK North Sea and export it globally, now playing an active role in US offshore wind – sharing knowledge and experiences.
Taylor Adams and Patrick Duhaney of Virginia Beach Economic Development then gave an overview on the how the City of Virginia Beach can support businesses in the East of England’s offshore wind sector to establish a presence in the US.
To conclude this US export themed event at OrbisEnergy New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership’s Chief Executive Chris Starkie and Patrick Duhaney, City Manager at Virginia Beach Economic Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding recognising the shared economic development opportunities in #cleanenergy, #agrifoods and #digital/ICT. Here’s to an exciting future of collaboration and partnership between Norfolk & Suffolk, UK and the City of Virginia Beach, US.
