Norfolk firm launches international arm at major Amsterdam energy event

A Norfolk firm which has helped hundreds of companies launch and grow is heading to Amsterdam to expand and export its services

Hethel International will be launching at the major Offshore Energy event in Amsterdam on October 8-9 as it bids to develop and manage business incubators in Europe, and ultimately elsewhere in the world.

The company is one of nine sharing a stand – number 1.230 – hosted by the East of England Energy Zone which is supporting its initiative to find new markets overseas.

Hethel International is a spin-off from Hethel Innovation, formed in 2012 by Norfolk County Council to incubate and support local business, mainly SMEs and start-ups. It has grown from three employees to 21, assisted 500 ventures and helped create more than 1500 highly skilled jobs.

General manager Alice Reeve said: “Our immediate plans are to begin forming working relationships with businesses outside of the UK and replicate the support we offer locally in East Anglia. Longer term, we are looking to develop and manage business incubators across the globe, starting with Europe!

“Building on the foundations we have crafted in East Anglia, Hethel International is ready to become a market leader in innovation support.”
