East of England opportunities showcased to international audience
Opportunities for investment, contracts and expansion and the strength of the growing energy supply chain in the east of England were showcased by East of England Energy Zone (EEEZ) at the Offshore Energy Exhibition in Amsterdam.
The Southern North Sea was the focus of the EEEZ’s activity at the event, which brought 550 exhibitors and more than 10,000 visitors to the three halls at the 11th Offshore Energy at RAI, Amsterdam on 23-24 October.
More than 1,000 delegates attended the conference and side events.
The EEEZ stand attracted many enquiries, including for inward investment, with follow up visits planned.
Exhibitors and visitors ranged from independent and international oil and gas companies to OEMs, EPC contractors and suppliers, from senior executives to young professionals and students.
Opportunities highlighted in oil and gas included 40-50 years of tight gas production potential in the Southern North Sea, investment in fields such as Cygnus, Tolmount and Platypus and the decommissioning of nearly 3,500 pipeline by 2026.
In offshore wind, planned and current projects and the expanding supply chain supporting them featured.
Peel Ports, which runs the busy outer harbor, port and quayside at Great Yarmouth, participated on the stand.
During the event, Simon Gray, Chief Executive of EEEGR, took part in a live debate on a Dutch radio station. “What’s the deal for the offshore wind industry” was a debate on Brexit that included Team Humber.
EEEGR’s two-day exhibition and conference next May, SNS2019, was also promoted to the international audience.
The EEEZ will next exhibit at the Wind Europe Conference & Exhibition in Bilbao, Spain, 2-4 April 2019.
